She feels that her sister should honor the promise she made to her a long time ago about the baby she had for her, but as the battle between Maya and Nicole heats up, the older Avant sibling will be stunned when she realizes who her father agrees with on the Thursday, June 22 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

Nicole (Reign Edwards) served as both biological mother and surrogate when Maya (Karla Mosley) and Rick (Jacob Young) wanted a baby, and after giving birth to Lizzy, she gave her to the couple on the CBS soap. Since then, she has since married Zende (Rome Flynn), and hoped to start a family with him as well. However, she learned that the scarring she got when she gave birth to Lizzy has left her potentially unable to conceive a child of her own. In addition, a clerical error surfaced which meant they all had to refile the adoption papers for Lizzy—something Nicole is now refusing to do.

The fact that Nicole can’t bring herself to sign the papers has driven a wedge between her and Maya, but Maya still feels her sister will come around in time. However, when their father, Julius (Obba Babatunde) shows up and tells her that she’s the one in the wrong, she will be stunned.

Maya (Karla Mosley) will be stunned when Julius (Obba Babatunde) reveals his feelings about the situation regarding Lizzy on the June 22, 2017 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful.” CBS

“How could you live with yourself if you knew that you took away the only child that your sister could ever have?” He asks in a preview clip. “I don’t think you even understand what you’re doing to her. Because if you did, and you cared, you would stop doing it.”

The fact that her father still doesn’t support her will open up some old wounds for Maya, and she will become even more devastated about how things have gotten to this point as a result.

However, Nicole will also find herself surprised when her side of the battle also receives a lack of support from someone who she felt would readily agree with her. Though he understands why she is thinking of taking Lizzy back for herself, Zende has surprised his wife by indicating that he doesn’t want the baby Nicole already conceived. Not only is the little girl not his child, he also remembers how important it was to Nicole back then to give Maya and Rick the gift of a child, and though it’s tougher to do now considering the circumstances that could keep them from bringing their own child into the world, it doesn’t mean they should take back the promise Nicole once made.

“I know it’s hard, but Lizzy will always be a part of your life,” Zende says in the clip.

His thoughts may force Nicole to reconsider things a bit, even if she doesn’t want to, though the pain both sisters are feeling could mean that no matter the outcome, their relationship may suffer for good because of this situation.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
