A Charlottetown boy was given 18 months probation Monday for making a threat against his school on Facebook, according to published reports.

CBC reported that the 16 year old boy has been completely banned from Internet use during his probation period as well.

There will be a shooting tomorrow at Charlottetown Rural High School. Hide, the message read.

Students who saw the message notified police. He has since pleaded guilty of the crime.

The boy was a student at Charlottetown Rural at the time but has since had to change schools, CBC said.

As part of his sentence, he was also ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.
