While it has been confirmed that Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage have officially signed on as “Mom and Dad” for the Disney Channel revamp of “Boy Meets World,” “Uncle” Shawn says that he is currently not apart of the project, but he would like to be at some point.

TMZ reports that Rider Strong, who played Shawn Hunter, Corey Matthews’ best friend on the 90s family sitcom, has released a statement saying, "At this point, I have no official involvement."

The Disney Channel is developing the “Boy Meets World” sequel called “Girl Meets World” that will follow sweethearts’ Corey Matthews and Topanga Lawrence’s 13-year-old daughter, Riley.

While Savage and Fishel have been confirmed for their respective roles in the pilot, casting is still underway for the role of Riley, according to Too Fab.

In addition, Entertainment Weekly revealed that Riley would have a 14-year-old brother named Elliot, and a “dark and edgy” best friend name Maya, who will mirror Strong’s role on the original show.

The actor does not rule out the possibility that he may be on the show.

"There might be a chance to see some of the BMW cast in a guest spot, and I think it would be nice to find out where our characters have been all these years. But 'Girl Meets World' will be, and I think it should be, it’s own show," he said in his statement.

"It will be about Cory and Topanga, their daughter, and a new set of characters ... And I, for one, can’t wait to see it evolve."

Strong is not the only “Boy Meets World” cast member interested in being involved with the new project. Lily Nicksay, who played the original Morgan Matthews, and Anthony Tyler Quinn, who played Mr. Turner, have also expressed interest in reprising their roles.
