The Brazilian health ministry on Sunday announced in a statement its first H1N1 death after a 29 year old died on Sunday.

The 29-year-old man, who was in Argentina and was hospitalized from June 20 in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, was the first confirmed case, said Temporao at a press conference.

According to the Brazilian health ministry, 36 new H1N1 related cases have been registered in Brazil and the total confirmed cases of the deadly flu had reached 627 in Brazil.

The ministry has in recent days warned Brazilians against traveling in Argentina and Chile.
