An autopsy of 32-year-old actress, Brittany Murphy, is expected within the next couple of days, MTV reported citing the Los Angeles County coroner's office on a press conference.

The autopsy could be expected for Monday or Tuesday, according to celebrities blogging site TMZ.com.

Murphy was pronounced dead at 1:04 p.m. EST Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, following a cardiac arrest. The cause of death appeared to be natural, according to L.A. County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter, MTV.com reported.

The sudden loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy, her family said in a statement issued by her publicist. She was our daughter, our wife, our love and a shining star. We ask you to respect our privacy at this time.

The family said funeral arrangements are pending.

Murphy starred in Clueless, 8 Mile, and Girl Interrupted.
