The son of Bruce Penhall, Connor Penhall, was killed Wednesday night as he worked repairing a portion of Interstate 10 in Baldwin Park.

The accident happened approximately 11:35 p.m. on westbound 10 near Francisquito Avenue, reported KTLA. He was doing contract work, repairing the highway for California Department of Transportation, when he was struck by the vehicle.

The driver, 37-year-old Takamoto Matsuhiko of Arcadia, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, reported CBS.
