The GoFundMe page for Keaton Jones, a bullied teen from Tennessee, has been halted due to family backlash.

Joseph Lam, the person who created the donations page for Jones, released a statement confirming his decision to temporarily shut down the account. He said that Jones’ mom, Kimberly Jones, is also being bullied online by people who do not necessarily know her.

“As many of you know, I paused the donations as well as the comments. As I sit back and read these comments and watched the video again I feel I have to make this update. THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE MOM!! However passing judgment on her before you know her is a form of bullying. Condemnation before evaluation is the ultimate form of ignorance,” Lam wrote.

Over the weekend, Kimberly shared a video of her emotional son crying after she picked him up from school at lunch time. Jones revealed that he was once again being bullied by his schoolmates. They made fun of his nose, as well as the fact that he doesn’t have friends.

Jones’ video went viral on social media, especially after several celebrities showed their support for the bullied teen. “Avengers” stars Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo even went as a far as asking Jones and his family to attend the premiere of their respective movies next year.

However, even though Jones received countless support from celebrities and netizens, his mom was criticized for uploading the video of her son crying. Kimberly defended her decision to share the video and said that it was her son who asked him to do it.

Additionally, Kimberly is also being criticized for uploading a photo of herself carrying a Confederate flag. Some people also scoured through her social media posts and captured one written on Aug. 25.

In the post, Kimberly seemed like she was asking everyone to stop whining about slavery and racism. According to TMZ, it is unclear what exactly she was referring to at that time, but the post was written two weeks after the neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville.
