Cameron Diaz acknowledged her friend Gwyneth Paltrow's contribution in how she decided to have her own family and eventually become a mom.

In an interview with Paltrow for "In Goop Health: The Sessions," Diaz spoke about her current life after leaving the limelight. The "Bad Teach" star and her husband, Benji Madden, have welcomed their daughter, Raddix Madden, in January, and Diaz revealed during their conversation that she wouldn't have become a mom without Paltrow's influence.

"I don't think I could have been this parent at 25. I would not have become a mother if it wasn't for you," Diaz told Paltrow.

"I credit you so much with the fact that you never let up on me. I would say, encouraging."

"And a pain in the a--. I knew what a natural mother you are... You were born to do it," Paltrow quipped.

Prior to marrying Benji and welcoming Raddix, Diaz had been very open about her stand on having kids. Diaz admitted that she wasn't drawn to becoming a mom.

“It’s so much more work to have children. To have lives besides your own that you are responsible for—I didn’t take that on. That did make things easier for me. A baby—that's all day, every day for eighteen years,” Diaz said in an interview with Esquire.

“I like protecting people, but I was never drawn to being a mother. I have it much easier than any of them. That’s just what it is,” she added.

Apparently, she had a change of heart when she welcomed her daughter earlier this year. In a post on Instagram announcing the arrival of Raddix, Diaz shared her joy after welcoming the new addition to their family.

"We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden," she wrote.

"She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.”

In April, Diaz joined her pal, Who What Wear chief executive officer Katherine Power, for Power's Instagram Live. During their conversation, she talked about her quarantine life and once again spoke about motherhood.

Diaz said being a mom to Raddix was the "best, best, best part of my life."

"I'm so grateful and so happy and it's the best thing ever. I'm so lucky to do it with Benji and we're having the best time," she was quoted by CNN, as saying.
