Carrie Underwood performed Cowboy Casanova at the CMAs Wednesday night, the first single of her third album Play On, which debuted early November.

Underwood scored the No. 1 country song of the country with Cowboy Casanova and her second No.1 album with Play On which also became the top-selling release of the year by a female artist.

The 26-year-old American Idol champ was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year but she didn't prevail over Taylor Swift who took all four awards to which she was nominated including Vocalist, Album, Video and Entertainer of the Year.

Critics questioned the judge’s decision to award Swift as best vocalist favoring singers like Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, and Underwood, according to Entertainment Weekly.
