At the Casey Anthony trial, a third version of how Caylee Anthony died has emerged. Her mother Casey Anthony, accused of killing Caylee for convenience’s sake, now said her daughter was already dead during the 31-day period from June 15, 2008 to July 15, 2008.

At first, Casey told her parents that Caylee was with her and doing fine. When her parents asked to her to see Caylee, Casey made up a variety of excuse, including being too busy, being on work assignment away, or that Caylee was with a babysitter, reported UPI.

Then, when her mother confronted her in her boyfriend’s apartment with Caylee nowhere to be seen, Casey claimed a babysitter named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez kidnapped Caylee and she hasn’t seen her child this entire 31-day period.

When the Casey Anthony trial began on Tuesday May 24, 2011, Casey Anthony’s defense attorney Jose Baez presented a third account. He said Caylee actually drowned in the family pool on June 15, 2008.

Her body was initially discovered by George Anthony, Caylee’s grandfather and Casey’s father. Baez also alleged that George abused his daughter Casey when she was 8 years old. After he discovered Caylee’s body, George allegedly tried to put the blame on Casey in order to hide his sexual molestation from the public.

Baez said Casey told the two previous lies because that’s what she, as a sexually abused child, has always done.

“On June 16, 2008, after Caylee died, Casey did what she's been doing all her life, hiding her pain, going into that dark corner and pretending that she does not live in the situation that she's living in,” he said.

George, who testified at the Casey Anthony trial, denied all allegations made against him by Baez.
