Casey Anthony's parents -- Cindy and George Anthony -- have finally agreed to break their silence, and are doing that on the Dr. Phil show.

The interview, which will be aired Sept. 12, will be exclusively for media and will also mark the show's 10th season premiere.

Dr. Phil considers the interview a good platform for the Anthonys to put forward their side of the story, which he says has not really been heard.

"Cindy and George have suffered a horrific loss with the untimely death of their granddaughter Caylee, and they have since endured an unprecedented public attack on their family," the TV psychologist, Dr. Phil McGraw said in a statement, according to a Christianpost report.

"We knew that we'd want to speak at some point, and we figured there was no better place than with Dr. Phil," said Cindy Anthony.

"We are hoping that by doing this interview, we will be able to help other people who may be experiencing struggles of their own. We certainly don't want anyone to experience what we have these last three years," she added.

"Have these attacks been warranted, or not? I looked them straight in the eye and asked some very tough questions. Nothing is off limits during this interview," he added.

Casey Anthony, acquitted in July of killing her daughter, will be writing a book with the help of a ghostwriter, in which she will elaborate on her growing up in the Anthony family, her experience of teenage motherhood and her relationship with parents and brother, according to Los Angles Examiner.

Considering Dr Phil's experience and expertise, it is certainly the best place for the Anthonys to open up, given the criticism that George has received after allegations from the defense of covering up the death of his granddaughter and molesting his daughter.

The Anthonys have asked for no monetary compensation for the interview, Dr. Phil said.
