CBS Corp , owner of the most-watched television network, reported its first quarterly revenue growth in more than a year, helped by a rebound in advertising.

Revenue increased 12 percent to $3.53 billion -- the first time CBS recorded revenue growth in five quarters -- on the comeback of advertising revenue, up 17.4 percent to $2.38 billion. Analysts had estimated revenue of $3.44 billion, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S

At the company's Entertainment Group, which includes shows like How I Met Your Mother and this year the Super Bowl, revenue advanced 15 percent to $2 billion.

Revenue at its Cable Networks increased 8 percent to $368 million.

CBS said revenue at its local Broadcasting Group grew 19 percent from the same period a year-ago.

CBS shares hit a 52-week high on May 3 at $16.98 and are up 15 percent year-to-date.
