United States national soccer team forward Charlie Davis, 23, was injured in a single fatal car accident on the George Washington Parkway in Virginia on Tuesday. The accident left one dead, ESPN reported Tuesday.

Davies suffered undisclosed injuries but his life apparently wasn't threatened, ESPN reported. He was in stable condition after he underwent a surgery Tuesday afternoon.

Obviously, as a team we were saddened to learn this news, said U.S. Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley in the team's website. Our thoughts and prayers are with Charlie and his family, as well as the people in the car and the families of the others involved. As a team, we are relying on each other in a moment that has for sure hit us all hard.

A person in the car was killed, according to US soccer spokesman Neil Buethe. Further details of the crash remain unknown.
