Charlie Sheen will star in a new sitcom Anger Management since being fired from Two and a Half Men on March 7 .

The show will be based on a 2003 Adam Sandler-Jack Nicholson film in which mild-mannered, non-confrontational man is ordered to attend group anger management sessions led by a therapist who could probably use some anger management himself, according to a news release.

Sheen stated ...while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept.

The actor expects to retain a significant ownership stake in the series, according to a news release.

The sitcom has not yet been sold to a network.
