On her Instagram account, the actress shared a selfie with her adorable pet monkey. In her caption, the “Charmed” alum said that the animal that’s resting on her shoulder was abandoned by its mom. Doherty added that she feels extremely blessed to be able to give it a “sanctuary.”

Last week, Doherty also shared a video of herself in between her workout. In the clip, Doherty is trying to squeeze in a quick nap, but two of her female friends suddenly danced in front of her, waking her up.

In April, Doherty announced to her thousands of followers on Instagram that she is finally on remission after battling breast cancer for two years. In the photo, the actress rests her back against the wall with her head bowed down to her arms and knees. The 46-year-old actress said that she’s happy to be in remission, but she also has to think of other options for her recent battle with cancer.

According to her, she is thinking about undergoing reconstructive surgery for her breasts, but this would require multiple surgeries. Another option she has is to take pills for the next five years of her life. However, doing this also comes with possible side effects. But in that moment, Doherty decided to just focus on enjoying her remission.

People previously reported that Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015. A year later, the actress spoke with Entertainment Tonight to say that her cancer has already spread. “I had breast cancer that spread to the lymph nodes, and from one of my surgeries we discovered that some of the cancer cells might have gone out of the lymph nodes. So for that reason, we are doing chemo, and then after chemo, I’ll do radiation,” she said.

The actress added that one of the scariest things about having cancer is not knowing what will happen next. “Is the chemo going to work? Is the radiation going to work? You know, I am going to have to go through this again or am I going to get a secondary cancer?” she said at the time.
