BEIJING (Commodity Online) : China's National Bureau of Statistics on Monday said country's crude steel output was 50.36 million tons in February, 22.5% more than in the same month of last year, but 4.1% less than in the 52.53 million tons produced in January.

According to the latest statistics by the NBS, country's total crude steel output in the first two months of this year was 102.89 million tons, up 25.4% from the same period of 2009.

During the period from January to February, the country produced 117.36 million tons of steel products, 27.7% more than a year ago.

In 2009, China's crude steel output grew 12.9% year on year to 568.03 million tons, while the output of steel products increased 15.2% to 696.26 million tons.
