China's LCD-TV market is poised for a sharp growth, with one research firm expecting a 49 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) into 2010.

According to market researcher iSuppli, China's LCD-TV shipments are expected to increase to more than 20 million units in 2010, up from 1.4 million units in 2005. This increase will swell the market to $12.8 billion from the $1.3 billion figure in 2005.

Screens larger than 30-inches are seeing the fastest growth, the firm stated, because Chinese customer prefer the larger screens and the declining prices of these products.

As 30-inch and larger sets become more affordable, their shipments will rise as well, accounting for more than 80 percent of China's LCD-TV market by 2010.
