Growth of China’s gross domestic product dipped to 7.5 percent in the second quarter from 7.7 percent in the first quarter this year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China.

The drop was anticipated by most analysts, as noted by BBC News.

Growth of China’s GDP in the first half overall was 7.6 percent, the National Bureau of Statistics said.

“These figures are not surprising, adding to signs of downward pressure on China’s economy,” Zhou Hao, an economist at ANZ Bank in Shanghai, was quoted as saying by Reuters.
