Chris Hemsworth received a special post birthday surprise from his family Saturday, when his wife and children visited him in Boston where they spent the day strolling through the Boston Public Garden.

Hemsworth enjoyed quality family time just days after he celebrated his 32nd birthday on Tuesday, Aug. 11. According to People, Hemsworth, wife Elsa Pataky and their children were spotted walking through the Boston Public Garden, where they enjoyed the city’s famous tourist attraction, the Swan Boats. The Hemsworth family was also seen walking around the lagoon while the “Thor” actor pushed one of his kids in a stroller. The couple's 3-year-old daughter, India, walked alongside her parents.

A fan, who spotted the father and daughter, told the magazine that Hemsworth also followed his three-year-old toddler as she ran around. The eyewitness added, "They stood at the boats for a bit and then decided to keep walking."

The Hemworth family also walked over to the Public Garden’s scenic bridge before going to the balloon stand to check out the colorful display.

The weekend break was a welcome rest for the actor given the long filming days at the “Ghostbusters” set. The “Avengers” star was spotted earlier last week, riding a black SUV outside of the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston, heading to the movie’s filming location in South Weymouth. Despite the filming hours, Hemsworth also enjoyed a night out with the crew, along with personal trainer Winter Michael.

The group was spotted last week having a low key night-cap at Alibi Bar & Lounge in the Liberty Hotel. Hemsworth reportedly left after one drink.

Hemsworth also seemed to be adjusting to life in Boston and blending in with the crowds. During his birthday last Tuesday, the star was photographed with a Boston Red Sox hat, the Boston Globe reported. The photo showed the actor about to ride his usual black SUV service heading towards the “Ghostbuster” filming set. He was wearing the Red Sox hat and a blue shirt.

The 32-year-old actor will play the receptionist in the “Ghostbusters” reboot. In the original movies, the role was played by Annie Potts.
