Clinton to meet Japan FM, discuss base issue
WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will meet Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada in Hawaii on January 12 and is likely to discuss a dispute over relocating a U.S. airbase, a State Department official said on Thursday.
It will be a wide-ranging discussion, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley told reporters, adding that he expected the issue of relocating the U.S. Marines' Futenma airbase in Okinawa would come up.
