“Code Black” alum Raza Jaffrey has just been cast in the upcoming “Lost In Space” remake.

According to TV Line, the upcoming Netflix series was ordered in June and is slated for release sometime next year. Jaffrey will play the role of Victor, a recurring character described as a very arrogant politician who is masking his biggest fear of being discovered as someone who is not good enough.

Jaffrey will be joining Toby Stephens and Molly Parker. The two will play the roles parents and scientists John and Maureen Robinson. Taylor Russell will give life to the character of Ignacio Serricchio, Parker Pousey will play Judy, and Don West will play the part of Dr. Smith, according to Deadline. “Lost In Space” is inspired by the Irwin Allen’s 1965 series that chronicled the lives of the Robinsons during a time of crisis.

Jaffrey’s television credits include a recurring role in Showtime’s “Homeland” Season 4, where he played Aasar Khan. He played the role of Dr. Neal Hudson in CBS’ “Code Black” Season 1, but was axed alongside Bonnie Somerville ahead of Season 2.

Last year, The Hollywood Reporter noted that “Code Black” let some of their regular cast members go to introduce lesser-known actors. In an attempt to re-launch the Marcia Gay Harden medical drama, the creators of the series decided to upgrade cast member Boris Kodjoe from guest star to regular cast status. Unfortunately, even with the changes in casting, “Code Black” Season 2 still failed to generate impressive ratings for the series. As of late, it is still unclear whether or not Season 3 will be a go.
