“Code Black” Season 2, episode 14 will focus on Mario (Benjamin Hollingsworth).

In “Vertigo,” Mario will risk his life while helping Willis (Rob Lowe) in a construction site, where two brothers are trapped in a crane 300 feet above the ground. Mario, who pulled a double shift that day, is not really in his best working condition. However, he decides to help Willis when he discovers that the latter needs another set of hands. Elsewhere, Dr. Leanne Rorish (Maria Gay Harden) will treat the wife of an orthopedist working at Angels Memorial after she is brought to the emergency room with mysterious injuries all over her body.

Meanwhile, “Code Black” Season 2, episode 13, titled “Unfinished Business,” just aired on Wednesday, Jan. 11. In the episode, Guthrie (William Allen Young) decided to undergo surgery for his Parkinson’s. While he was sedated in the operating room, Guthrie imagined certain things happening at Angels Memorial Hospital. This includes the death of a baby, a woman's suicide and more. It was later on revealed that these images were similar to Guthrie’s real-life experiences. He once lost his child to carbon monoxide, and his wife also committed suicide.

When he woke up inside the recovery room, an emotional Guthrie wanted to see his son Cole (Cress Williams). Initially, he thought that he wasn’t there, but he was by his side. During their conversation, Guthrie confessed to Cole that he had a twin who passed away when they were still babies. He also admitted to not being able to stand up for his family after the tragic deaths of his loved ones. Guthrie apologized to Cole for not being a good father, but Cole said that he is the best dad he could ever have.

“Code Black” Season 2, episode 14, titled “Vertigo,” will air on CBS on Jan. 25 at 9 p.m. EST.
