Georgia football rolled to its second straight national championship on Monday night, and it won't be at all surprising if the team wins a third consecutive title. After demolishing TCU 65-7 in the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, the Bulldogs have the best odds to win next year's title.

Georgia is the clear favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook with +300 odds for the 2023-2024 CFP national championship. Alabama has the second-best odds at +600. Ohio State (+700) and Michigan (+800) are the only other teams that have better than +1000 national championship odds.

In their rout of TCU, Georgia became the first team in a decade to successfully defend its national championship. If the Bulldogs can three-peat in 2024, it would be a historic accomplishment. Minnesota is the last team to win three straight titles (1934-1936).

The Bulldogs made history with their 58-point win over the Horned Frogs. It marked the largest margin of victory among the 1,556 bowl games played in college football history. Georgia's 65 points were the most scored by a team since the BCS championship game debuted in 1998.

During its two championship runs, Georgia has gone 29-1, losing only to Alabama in last year's SEC Championship Game. The Bulldogs returned the favor to the Crimson Tide a month later when the national title was on the line.

If Georgia is going to three-peat, its third title will have to come with a new quarterback at the helm. Stetson Bennett totaled eight touchdowns and no interceptions in the last two national championship games. Carson Beck is in line to become Georgia's starting quarterback as a redshirt junior in 2023.

Kirby Smart left Alabama as its defensive coordinator to become the Georgia head coach in 2016. In a little more than a half-decade, Smart has arguably taken the Bulldogs to a level where they now rival Nick Saban and Alabama as the top program in college football.

Smart has a 73-10 record in the last six seasons. Georgia finished each of those seasons ranked in the top eight, including four finishes in the top four.

Alabama currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in 2023, according to Rivals. Georgia's recruiting class is ranked second in the country, and another national title won't hurt matters before signing day in February.

Saban has led Alabama to six national championships since 2009. The Crimson Tide defeated the Bulldogs for the title in the 2017 season. They have suffered no more than two losses in 12 straight seasons.

Alabama was left out of the 2022-2023 CFP field, missing the playoffs for just the second time in nine seasons. The Crimson Tide went 11-2 in the 2022 season, defeating Kansas State 45-20 in the Sugar Bowl.

Alabama lost two games, both on the final play by four total points, including an overtime defeat. Had one of those games gone the Crimson Tide's way, they likely would've made the playoffs.

TCU has +5000 odds to win next year's title after losing in the championship game.
