Stocks fell broadly on Friday, with major indexes snapping a streak of four weeks of gains as poor consumer sentiment data fueled concerns about an economic recovery.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 76.79 points, or 0.82 percent, at 9,321.40, according to the latest available figures. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 8.63 points, or 0.85 percent, at 1,004.10. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> fell 23.83 points, or 1.19 percent, at 1,985.52.
