The five million users of Cortana for Android can now download the latest update for Microsoft’s intelligent personal assistant. The new update version 1.9.10 may not come with the same level of deep integration as the app for the Windows Phone, but it is helpful in making the user experience of the Android app more seamless.

According to PhoneArena, update 1.9.10 comes with much needed improvements for Cortana’s Android app. First and foremost, it comes with a better notification sound for reminders. In addition, reminders can now be triggered at a more accurate and timely manner — something that Android 6.0 Marshmallow-running devices had trouble doing before.

As stated in the official changelog of the Cortana for Android update, users should now notice the speedier and better loading times of the home page. The version prior this one was found to load the home page at a slower rate. However, Microsoft did not specify how much faster the loading times should be with this new update, so there’s no way of telling unless users install version 1.9.10 and take notice of the loading times personally.

With the new update, users now have the capability to refresh the reminder list page by just pulling it down. Though this is just a small tweak, it is going to be handy to users who always keep track of their reminder list. This feature does away with the usual refresh mechanism that required users to press an actual refresh button, as per Android Headlines.

Finally, aside from the items specified in the changelog, it is also possible that the latest Cortana for Android update has general fixes for bugs affecting the user experience the app provides.

Cortana for Android only works on Android devices running Android 4.1 and higher. Its latest update is now available for download via the Google Play Store. Existing users who want to update their app may simply do so by looking for it in the My Apps list on the Play Store.
