The world has seen new innovation in the shape of the iPad and the iPhone, the two most powerful devices offered by Apple.
Many own an Apple tablet or an iPhone device, but Stuart Hughes has brought out the most expensive iPad 2 ever: it is adorned with 24 karat solid gold weighing 2 kilograms (approximately 4.4 pounds). 12.5 karat flawless diamonds encrust the Apple logo. Moreover, the front frame is made of the oldest rock in the world: Ammolite. Sourced from Canada, the stone is over 75 million years old. However, to make this masterpiece even more individual, sections of a 65 million year old T-REX Dinosaur’s thigh bone was splintered and then shaved into the Ammolite , then finished off with ultimate jewel, as single cut 8.5 karat flawless diamond inlaid in its own platinum surround with 12 outer flawless diamonds. The damage? £5 million ($8 million).
That said, Hughes also has the world's most expensive phone, also with a total construction cost of £5 million. The bezel is handmade from rose with approx 500 individual flawless diamonds which total over 100 carats. The rear section is formed using rose gold with the added touch of a rose gold Apple logo and 53 diamonds. The main navigation is made from platinum which holds a single cut 7.4 karat pink diamond. Also included (not shown in picture) is a rare 8 karat single cut flawless diamond which can replace the pink one. The chest which houses this unique handset is made from a single block of granite in Imperial Pink, with the inside lined with Nubuck top grain leather, weighing a massive 7 kilograms. The handset is 32gb model and limited edition: Only two have ever been made.
Hughes has previously brought out what was considered to be the most costliest iPhone in the form of the Gold-striker iPhone 3GS priced at $3.2 million.
The Goldstriker iPhone is encrusted with 271 grams of 22 karat pure solid gold. More than 200 diamonds have been added to the mobile phone. Apple logo on the back features 53 gems and the home button is covered with a single 7.1 karat diamond. The
iPhone 3GS Supreme is also decorated in a chest carved from granite and Kashmir gold along with a lining made from top Nubuck grain leather.
There is another iPhone designed to be "princess plus," priced at $176,400. Designed by Austrian Peter Aloisson, the name is based on the princess shaped diamonds studded all over the casing. It has 138 out of the 318 on it shaped in this style. The other diamonds are shaped in brilliant-cut pattern. In total, this mobile phone has 17.75 karats of diamonds and 18 karats of white gold.
