The FBI’s International Response Team (IRT) is back! The freshman season of “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders” wrapped up with a series of interesting international crimes being solved by Unit Chief Jack Garrett (Gary Sinise) and his motely group of agents. Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, March 8 at 10 p.m. EST on CBS, right after an episode of its parent series, “Criminal Minds.”

What will happen in Season 2, episode 1?

The Season 2 premiere, titled “Lost Souls,” kicks off with Jack and his team being summoned to solve a case in Tanzania. 23 members of a church group suddenly went missing in this country, according to the synopsis on SpoilerTV.

The promo shows Jack telling his team that tourists are always a criminal’s easiest target. In some other case, 219 Americans were targeted by criminals. The video also shows Jack assuring the parents of the missing Americans in Tanzania that they are doing everything they can to locate their children. The case takes an emotional turn when skilled military hero Matthew Simmons/Matt (Daniel Henney) wonders what the children’s parents are going through.

Like most cases in Season 1, this case gets heated leading to a scuffle between Matt and the kidnappers.

Apart from Sinise and Henney, “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders” stars Alana De La Garza as Clara Seger, a cultural anthropologist and polyglot, Annie Funke as medical examiner Mae Jarvis and Tyler Jesse James as a brilliant tech analyst named Russ “Monty” Montgomery.

The Season 2 premiere also stars “Criminal Minds” actress Kirsten Vangsness as tech genius Penelope Garcia. It seems she will help Jack and Monty in this case. Stars from the parent series frequently guest-star on episodes of the spinoff.
