  • Cristiano Ronaldo is contracted with Juventus until 2022
  • He has been linked with Man Utd, City and PSG
  • PSG want to sign Ronaldo in 2022 as Mbappe's replacement

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been offered to Manchester City in the 2021 summer transfer window.

Ronaldo's super-agent Jorge Mendes has offered the Portuguese forward as an alternate option to Harry Kane, reported Italian publication Corriere dello Sport.

Juventus are keen on removing Ronaldo from their wage structure and which is why the Turin club is ready to accept a transfer fee as low as $36 million for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, according to talkSport.

The former Real Madrid superstar has just one year left on his current deal with Juventus and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A club. Before the arrival of Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Ronaldo was linked with a move to Paris on a number of occasions.

However, it was also recently reported that PSG have agreed to allow Kylian Mbappe to leave the club as a free agent in 2022 as the club identified Ronaldo as a solid replacement for the Frenchman. PSG, who have signed four free agents this summer, wanted to rope in Ronaldo as well without spending a dollar.

PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi has always publicly spoken about teaming Lionel Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo at his club someday. By signing Messi this summer, Al-Khelaifi is closer to his dream. The front three of Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo would be the 2015 Ballon d'Or podium. Messi won that edition with 41.3% of the votes cast. Cristiano was second with 27.7% and Neymar finished third with 7.8%.

Ronaldo's move to Manchester City won't be an easy deal because of his close association with Etihad side's rivals Manchester United. Ronaldo first came into the limelight during his time at Old Trafford, where he spent as many as six years. As a Red Devil, Ronaldo netted 118 goals and helped his side win three Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy. He also won his first of the five Ballon d'Or trophies as a Manchester United player.

It was previously reported that Mendes had also approached Manchester United over a possible deal for his glamorous client. Ronaldo's former club were believed to be keen on having their star forward back but only if he accepted a pay cut by 50%. There has been no update on this situation since then.
