Actor and author Hill Harper, who currently stars as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes in the television series CSI: NY, is taking his publishing ventures to a whole new level.

Harper and young adult author Pamela Wells are starting a publishing house, according to a Publishers Weekly report. Harper & Wells Books will begin business this month.

I've been wanting to have my own multicultural children's book publishing imprint for some time, Harper said, according to PW. My focus is on publishing books about black issues. I have always wanted a children's book imprint that represents our voices.

The publishing house will reprint some of the authors' previous works, including Harper's middle school novel The Wiley Boys and Wells' Willow Fedler's Rules for Girls.

Harper's previous books are mostly geared towards adult audiences.

His work includes The Wealth Cure: Putting Money in Its Place, The Conversation: How Men and Women Can Build Loving, Trusting Relationships, Letters to a Young Brother: MANifest Your Destiny, and Letters to a Young Sister: DeFINE Your Destiny.

Co-writer Well penned the young adult Heartbreakers series.
