  • President Donald Trump called to check in on Dan Bongino before his neck surgery
  • Bongino praised Trump for taking the time to wish him well even if the POTUS was also sick
  • Trump said that it was a blessing in disguise that he caught COVID-19

President Donald Trump is an amazing and wonderful guy, but these qualities get lost in all the media hysteria about him, according to Dan Bongino. The radio host, author and political commentator recalled the time Trump called him before his neck surgery to show the public what kind of a man the president really is despite the "media nonsense" about him.

"The president called before I went into surgery," Bongino told his audience on Thursday.

"I'm not kidding. That's the kind of guy he is. He checked in on me and see how I was doing. He’s just a wonderful guy. He really is. And it’s a shame that gets lost in all the media hysteria about him. Just an amazing guy."

Bongino couldn’t stop praising Trump because the latter was also sick at the time, but he still took the time to check in on him. Trump announced last week that he and his wife Melania had tested positive for COVID-19. He was confined to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for a couple of days but was already back in the White House on Monday.

"He’s sick himself, or was, and he’s concerned about me. He didn’t even rush me off the phone. Just an amazing guy," Bongino added.

The netizens were very happy to learn what the POTUS did. They also prayed for his full and speedy recovery.

"Dan, so many people love you! President Trump is the best! I’m sending you prayers for healing! Think positive! This isn’t going to get you! I’ve had it twice, 11 years ago and still here at 76! Stay strong, we need you!" one commented.

"POTUS is the best! No surprise Dan, you're an amazing supporter of the President and we all wish you the highest and greatest recovery! Love & light to you from all of us patriots!" another added.

"POTUS is a wonderful guy , and he truly cares .. Wishing you a speedy recovery as well , stay strong," @jojo11sting wrote.

In related news, Trump has reported no symptoms of COVID-19, and so he is now back in the White House. He even released a new video updating the public that he wants Regeneron to be accessible to everyone for free because he believes that it works.

However, some were offended when the POTUS said it was a blessing in disguise that he caught the coronavirus. As of late, over 200,000 Americans have died due to the virus, and many felt it was insensitive of Trump to say those words.

"@realDonaldTrump calling COVID-19 a 'blessing in disguise' is a gigantic slap in the face to the 210,000+ families who have lost loved ones. You are sick, demented [explicit] and don’t deserve the air you breathe," one wrote on Twitter.
