“Dancing With the Stars” Season 21 will welcome back a familiar face. Karina Smirnoff is set to return as one of the professionals guiding the celebrity dancers in the 2015 installment.

Entertainment Weekly first reported the news and revealed that Smirnoff is nervous about finding out who her celebrity partner will be. After taking off a season of “DWTS,” she has no idea what direction casting is going in. “I’m excited and a little nervous,” she said when asked about her new partner. “Normally I can at least narrow it down a little bit, like whether it will be an athlete or an actor, but I have no idea.”

Smirnoff, 37, took time off the hit ABC reality show to work on some other projects. “After a lot of thought and prayer, I've decided to focus my energies on some other exciting endeavors, including adding 'author' to my resume,” Smirnoff announced on Instagram in February. “I have absolutely loved dancing for all of you for all these years and feel blessed to have been given a platform to put my passion for dance, choreography and creativity on display. DWTS has been a huge part of my life for the last 10 years, and I will always have a special place in my heart for it.”

She took the time off to promote her book “We’re Just Not That Into You: Dating Disasters from the Trenches” and filmed an indie flick called “Tango.” However, after just one season off, the Ukrainian-American is ready to compete for the mirror ball trophy again. Smirnoff won the competition in Season 13 with J.R. Martinez, but in her last competition, she was out in the second week with her partner, Randy Couture. Hopefully, she’ll fare better this season.

As previously reported, “Dancing With the Stars” hasn’t finished casting the celebrity dancers for the new season. “We’re about 4/5 of the way there. We like to be around [this number] since we’re a very current show,” executive producer Rob Wade told Glamour earlier this month. “The premiere of the show is still over a month and a half away, which is a long time. So you want to see [who’s current in the news].”

The “Dancing With the Stars” Season 21 cast will be revealed on “Good Morning America” on ABC on Wednesday, Sept. 2. “Dancing With the Stars” will premiere on ABC on Monday, Sept. 14.
