Chaka Khan might be the queen of funk, but the Grammy Award-winning artist made a royal mistake during the Season 21 premiere of “Dancing With the Stars” -- one that might have cost her the glimmering Mirror Ball Trophy. While performing the cha-cha-cha to her hit single “I Feel for You” (yes, her own song!) with her partner, Keo Motsepe, the 62-year-old singer forgot key moves during the hip-shaking routine.

After the iconic songstress completed the performance, Season 21 judge Carrie Ann Inaba called the singer out for the noticeable flub. The judge stated that although it seemed like the smiling legend was having a -- well, ball, out on the ballroom floor, it looked like Chaka was “having so much fun that sometimes you kind of forgot the choreography.”

But that wasn’t the only critique Chaka received during the anticipated Season 21 premiere. Another judge then begged Chaka’s partner to practice with the celebrity contestant even harder before next Monday's double elimination.

“Keo, work on the technique [with Chaka]. This girl is brilliant."

However, brilliant or not, Chaka received an unimpressive score of 13 out of 30.

“I feel you,” the vivacious singer responded to the low score, adding that she understood and agreed with the judges' criticism. “I’m open for all I can get. I’m just learning.”

Let’s just hope that Chaka Khan will remember her dance moves before she becomes the first red carpet celeb eliminated from Season 21 of “Dancing With the Stars.”

Season 21 of “Dancing With the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
