Gary Busey is ready to boogie down! The Season 21 “Dancing With the Stars” contestant showcased his dance skills when the enthusiastic 71-year-old actor and his partner, Anna Trebunskaya, hit rehearsals prior to the long-running show’s upcoming premiere.

During their practice, Trebunskaya, 34, gave Busey lessons on how to cha-cha so that he would be prepared to bust a high score-worthy move when the competitive ABC installment makes its debut on Monday, Sept. 14.

“Did you even think you’d be doing this dance with Mr. Joshua from ‘Lethal Weapon’?” Busey asks the red-headed pro in a behind-the-scenes promo video obtained by People magazine. After Trebunskaya says no, the zealous red carpet star responds, “I didn’t either.” The two then went into a fit of giggles before moving forward with their rehearsal.

While preparing a routine, the tangoing twosome experimented with Busey’s strengths, using his charisma and rowdiness to their advantage.

“Woo! I like it,” Trebunskaya encouraged the energetic actor as he added his own feisty flair to the performance. “I love the kick. Oh my God, we’re keeping it.”

Audiences are sitting on the edges of their seats, waiting to see what wild antics Busey will slip into his premiere performance – after all, Busey did announce his participation on “DWTS” in a pretty eccentric way. The actor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show to confirm he was a contestant on the show while riding a bedazzled horse.

“What made you decide to do it this time around?” the late night host asked Busey, who was sporting a sparkling cowboy-inspired ensemble.

“I didn’t have anything to do!” he quipped before riding off the set.

Busey and Trebunskaya will take the ballroom floor in an attempt to win the coveted Mirror Ball trophy on Monday, Sept. 14, when ABC returns with Season 21 of “Dancing With the Stars.”
