“Dancing With the Stars” competitor Tamar Braxton is the contestant to beat -- according to the Grammy-nominated award singer. During Week 7 of the hit ABC series, Val Chmerkovskiy’s Season 21 partner revealed in her package that she’s confident that she’ll be the one sashaying away with the coveted Mirror Ball trophy.

“I’m probably the best dancer in the competition,” Tamar said after producers asked her where she thought she stood in the competition. The songstress revealed her confidence grew after she earned a perfect score for her flawless jazz routine during Week 6 of “DWTS.”

But according to judge Bruno Tonioli, Val’s proud partner may have been “overdriven.” During the show’s anticipated “Halloween Night,” Tamar and Val attempted to gives chills to the judges with their creepy Foxtrot -- but instead, the twosome scared the judges with their unsynchronized routine soundtracked to the Doors' single “People Are Strange.”

“Believing in yourself and having that confidence will bring you to the next step,” judge Julianne Hough said before giving her critique. “That being said, there was a little bit of a mistake in the beginning and you missed hand-holds.”

The blond-haired judge continued to say that she felt as though there was still a “disconnect” between Tamar and Val -- and Bruno agreed. “It wasn’t as smooth as it could have been.”

Carrie Ann Inaba added that although Tamar is the “most natural mover” in the Season 21 competition, that won’t be what takes her to the finals. It’s her growth that will earn her a spot in the final two.

“What we like to see is growth. What I saw tonight -- when I saw you were in hold -- I saw growth,” the judge noted before stating Tamar’s performance “was like a push and pull.” “There were good moments and bad moments. It didn’t compare to last week.”

After the duo was given their score, a 24 out of 30, for their spooky routine, Tamar explained that the reason for her confident comment was nothing more than self-motivation.
