Tamar Braxton may have rallied during Monday night’s episode of “Dancing With the Stars,” but the 38-year-old singer will not be setting the dance floor on fire again in Season 21. She announced via Instagram that she will be quitting the ABC competition due to health complications.

“With a heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of #DWTS has come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem,” she announced late Tuesday night. “After yesterday’s final #DWTS performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn’t want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don’t have pneumonia but something way more serious.”

Braxton revealed that he has blood clots in both side of her lungs. She explained that while she always encourages people to “push through any obstacles,” that this is one she cannot.

“I love you and thank you ALL for your support,” she continued. “P.S. big hugs and kisses to my boo @iamvalc for being a friend, brother and the BEST partner EVER.”

Braxton’s “Dancing With the Stars” pro-partner, Val Chmerkosvkiy, re-posted Braxton’s Instagram photo with the hashtag: #TeamValentay.”

As previously reported, Braxton was taken to the emergency room during dress rehearsals for Monday’s show. It was announced that she had pneumonia and would be missing her Contemporary routine with Chmerkosvkiy. Since she could not perform, the judges watched her dress rehearsal tape.

Chmerkosvkiy was forced to defend his partner, whom the judges felt didn’t “execute” the routine properly. He fired back that it “doesn’t matter” what the judges think.

“I don’t really care about things that aren’t important at the moment and at the moment for me the priority was Tamar’s health and the situation,” he told E! News following the live show. “I’m not trying to hear critique on a dance that was done with her half conscious and caused her to be in the emergency room at the moment. For me that’s not what is important.”

Braxton was able to return for the team number performance, which is what kept her in the competition during week 9. Alexa PenaVega and partner Mark Ballas were eliminated, although if Braxton hadn’t returned for the group performance then she would have forfeited her spot on the show.
