In a recent interview Daniel Radcliffe admitted to a blemish in his squeaky clean public image. He opened to GQ about his past relationship with alcohol. I became so reliant on [alcohol] to enjoy stuff, Radcliffe expressed having picked up the habit while filming 2009's Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince. Thankfully, he has been sober since last summer and has no interest in turning back. As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time - that doesn't work for me. I do that very unsuccessfully, he says also explaining that simply decreasing alcohol consumption was of no help. Radcliffe is contempt with a quiet life and will continue to have his fun without the whiskey.

Daniel is not the only one to take the high road. His co-star in the Harry Potter films, 22 year-old Rupert Grint, claimed in an interview that he once overdid it and woke up in a graveyard. I'd been at my mate's house, we'd been asleep, then there was alcohol involved and we went out. A graveyard really isn't the nicest place to wake up!

Fans agree that it is rare but pleasant to see child actors all grown up still sane and sober. Having grown up in the limelight, the young Harry Potter stars remain with good heads on their shoulders.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 opens in theatres July 15.
