Darren Aronofsky gushed about Lawrence's performance in the film "Mother," which he directed.

"I think there were a lot of things that the script asked that I have never seen her do, so I was trying to figure out how we were going to get there," Aronofsky told Vulture. "And during the rehearsals, she was very, very relaxed. She was present… I really didn't get to know the character until we started shooting, and she showed up."

"During the big climax of the movie…She really went there," he continued. "The producers were freaking out. We had to sort of calm it down and then go for it again. And the thing is, there's so much ability there that somehow she can summon it again and again."

On the other hand, Lawrence also praised Aronofsky's work as a director. The "Hunger Games" star was impressed at how he helmed "Mother."

"When I saw the movie, I was reminded all over again how brilliant he is," Lawrence told Vogue in its September issue. Lawrence also noted how humble her boyfriend is. According to the "Passengers" star, she's not a fan of Harvard people, but Aronofsky is different.

"I normally don't like Harvard people, because they can't go two minutes without mentioning that they went to Harvard," Lawrence said. "He's not like that." The actress who is obsessed with reality shows admitted that her fondness for this type of shows has caused an impasse with Aronofsky. "He just finds it so vastly disappointing," the "Joy" star said while laughing.

Lawrence and Aronofsky started dating in 2016. They were first spotted dining in New York in August. In October, the pair spent an intimate dinner with Lawrence's friends. In November, they worked together to encourage college student to vote. Sources close to the couple find the pair a good match.

"Jen is a serious actress and being around another person in the business who is intense about what he does has been good for her, " an industry insider told People. "I don't know how far it will go but as of now they are a really good match, two talented people who love their work and are respected for it."
