The S&P 500 rose 2 percent and was trading above key technical levels on Monday as U.S. stocks hit 10-week highs boosted by manufacturing data and higher crude oil prices.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 193.30 points, or 1.85 percent, to 10,659.24. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> gained 21.86 points, or 1.98 percent, to 1,123.46. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> gained 40.18 points, or 1.78 percent, to 2,294.88.
