David Foster has opened up about his divorce from Yolanda Hadid.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Foster, 67, admitted that being single at his age is not as bad as he thought it would be. “I tend to go from marriage to marriage – leaving one wife for another. This is the first time in my adult life that I’ve been single. It’s a very powerful feeling, but I’m not used to it,” he said.

Foster added that one of his friends recently reminded him to choose carefully who he will spend the rest of his life with. When he heard this, Foster realized that it’s something he didn’t really think of before.

Hadid filed for divorce from Foster in January 2016 after four years of being married. One month before the official filing, the couple released a joint statement about their decision to go their separate ways. “Sadly, we have decided to go our separate ways. We’ve shared nine beautiful and joyous years together. During that time, we experienced love, friendship and the inevitable challenges that come with managing a marriage, career, blended families and health issues,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum revealed on “The Dr. Oz Show” in March 2016 that one of the reasons she filed for divorce was because of her Lyme disease. After her 2012 diagnosis, Hadid shared that she experienced a lot of changes in her life and suffered a lot because of her condition.

“At the end of the day, David never changed, I changed. Unfortunately, these are the cards that life dealt me. It wasn’t by choice. But I’m not the woman I used to be, and I probably will never be again,” she said.
