Around 6:20 am ET this morning, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Davone Bess may have put his career in jeopardy. According to The Big Lead, the 28-year-old receiver tweeted out a picture with the tag “We da real dons!” perhaps trumping the woman on the television screen dubbed “The Godmother” in the background. However, Bess clearly didn’t notice the marijuana on his table, amidst a 5-Hour Energy drink and his iPhone.

Always very active on the social media site, Bess has sent out several pictures since then.

And gave his followers a peak at his current playlist.

According to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the Browns are already investigating the matter and the NFL has so far refused to comment.

Bess went undrafted out of Hawaii, and was signed by the Miami Dolphins in 2008 as a receiver and punt returner. In five years, he made 363 receptions for 3,809 yards and 14 touchdowns. He signed a three-year, $11.5 million contract with Cleveland last summer.

The Browns are in the middle of a major search for a new head coach, and likely have little interest addressing Bess's comments at the moment. Bess will likely be subject to the NFL’s anti-drug policy, which saw Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller suspended for the start of last season.

This past season, Bess totaled 42 catches for 362 yards and two touchdowns before Cleveland assigned him to the reserve/non-football illness list in December.
