They are set for an intense exchange and showdown now that Chad knows that Dario and Abigail are leaving town. However, things will take an unexpected turn as the three duke things out on the Friday, July 28 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Thanks to Gabi (Camila Banus), Chad (Billy Flynn) learned that Dario (Jordi Villasousa) was being put into Witness Protection because he had offered to flip on his silent partner, someone big enough for his own crimes to be forgiven. He was stunned when Gabi told him that Abigail (Marci Miller) was leaving town with him on the NBC soap, abandoning her son with Chad and asking Gabi to look after him like she was his own mother. Before Gabi could tell him the other big news she learned however, Chad took off, ready to confront the man who is taking the woman he truly loves out of town.

When he goes to face-off with Dario, he will be stunned that Abigail seems intent to leave with him, and along the way, he will learn the truth about the pair’s marriage. When he realizes it is a sham union, one that was done solely so Dario wouldn’t be deported, he will then question Abigail further about why she is so insistent on leaving town, and most importantly, their son, again.

Abigail will be clearly heartbroken over what she must do, and will try to keep Chad from knowing her real reasons for leaving, which are ones that allow her to protect him. Dario has been blackmailing her with photographic evidence that suggests Chad was the one who murdered Deimos (Vincent Irizarry). The blackmail worked to keep Abigail from being the one who turned him in to the police for his crimes, which included stealing money from Chad’s company. However, despite his being arrested anyway when his hacker turned on him, the blackmail hasn’t ended. Thanks to Dario's deal to turn in someone else, he was given the protection of being able to disappear. Now, he is using the photo to blackmail Abigail into going with him.

Abigail will tell Chad that she’s leaving to protect him, but he won’t understand why, and he will beg her to stay. However, Dario won’t appreciate his wife’s ex-husband trying to demand what she does, and the two could take their battle to the streets of Salem. They will continue duking it out as they argue over what’s best for Abigail, and as they do while a helpless Abigail watches, tragedy will strike.

Someone will drive a car, erratically and with great speed, and will seem to be aiming it right at Chad and Dario. When she notices that the car could strike Chad, potentially killing her son’s father, she will scream to warn him, and may make a huge move to protect him once again—by leaping in front of the vehicle herself, becoming the victim instead.
