They have finally reunited after divorcing and moving on with new romances. Now, Chad and Abigail will celebrate the fact that they are back together by making things official once again on the Monday, Aug. 21 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail (Marci Miller) got divorced after she became convinced he wanted to be with Gabi (Camila Banus). In their time apart, Chad did eventually reunite with Gabi and begin dating her again on the NBC soap, while Abigail married Gabi’s brother, Dario (Jordi Villasousa), to keep him from being deported out of the country. That marriage proved to be a mistake for her however, after she realized he was involved in some shady crimes in Salem. After he blackmailed her with a photo of Chad which indicated he had murdered Deimos (Vincent Irizarry), Abigail was prepared to leave town with him. An argument between Chad and Dario the night they were supposed to leave then ended with Abigail being hit by a car that had been aimed for Chad.

Since Abigail woke up and got out of surgery, Gabi set Chad free to be with Abigail again, and they were reunited, though it was short-lived after Chad turned himself in for Deimos’ murder, believing the photo indicated his guilt. After he and Sonny (Freddie Smith) both remembered finding Deimos the night of his murder after he was already dead, they then each attended a hearing which set them free once more.

Now, finally back with Abigail again and planning to truly be with her forever this time, Chad has proposed marriage to her once more. Knowing that she can’t deny the love they share for one another, Abigail will happily accept, and the two will begin to plan their new life together.

Theirs won’t be the only happy news in Salem however. Sonny had been in jail for a while for Deimos’ murder, after he initially confessed to the crime, following an initial flash of memory where he was standing over his uncle’s body. He believed he had committed the crime, and his confession was backed up by an eyewitness account that also saw him standing there. Despite his insistence as he sat in jail that he did commit the crime, his boyfriend, Paul (Christopher Sean) has maintained that he knew he was innocent. He kept looking for any proof he could find that would back up his belief but had no success. Still, despite it looking like Sonny was going to spend the rest of his life in prison, Paul stayed faithfully by his side.

Now, after their own drama from the murder situation, which came just after Paul nearly succumbed to Jungle Fever, the two men are reunited as well, as happy as they’ve ever been. Knowing he has found love again, which was something he didn’t think he’d be able to find following Will’s murder, Sonny is ready to marry once again—and will also propose to Paul. Like Chad and Abigail, the happy couple will have something wonderful to celebrate afterwards.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
