Nicole and Eric on "Days of Our Lives"
Eric (Greg Vaughan) made an attempt to rescue Nicole (Arianne Zucker) from Xander (Paul Telfer) on "The Young and the Restless" NBC

He has come to Greece to try and rescue her and baby Holly from Xander’s clutches. However, as things potentially start to go South, Nicole won’t be able to help but rip into Eric on the Friday, May 12 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Eric (Greg Vaughan) came to the Greek island where Xander (Paul Telfer) was holding Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and baby Holly hostage, and is there to rescue them because Brady (Eric Martsolf) begged him to do it. Disguised as one of the guards Xander has outside the house, Eric successfully convinced the nanny Xander was using on the NBC soap to hold Holly to let him have the child. From there he made his escape to his pilot and told him he’d also be back with Nicole, and no matter what, he was to take off with the baby within 24 hours and get her back to Salem, even if he and Nicole were also not on the plane. He then went back for Nicole and busted into the house to rescue her as a drunk Xander tried to force himself on her.

However, his rescue plans will be faulty, and though he will initially get a few good punches in on an unsuspecting Xander, the other guards will quickly get him subdued, once again giving Xander the upper-hand. Knowing now that Eric was there, Xander will decide that it’s even more necessary to find ways to keep Nicole contained, because otherwise, she could easily escape, and while for him personally it’s not a problem if she’s out there in the world alone, it is a big deal for his boss. Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) secretly hired him to kidnap Nicole and Holly so he could then be a hero and rescue them—only to take them off somewhere else on his own for the rest of their lives. If Xander fails to keep her in his clutches, it will mean trouble for him with Deimos.

Because the plan has failed in terms of getting Nicole freed, and also means that Holly is now MIA and with a stranger that she doesn’t know, Nicole will feel even less kindly towards Eric than she already did before. Beforehand, she was angry at him and didn’t want to trust him because he is the reason Nicole and Holly are on the run without Holly’s biological father, Daniel. However, when she realizes his plot has now failed and potentially put her in even more danger, she will rip into him over that as well.

However, the decision to suddenly express so much anger towards him, while some of it may be real, could also be part of a new plan Nicole and Eric may cook up. If Xander believes that Nicole is refusing to go anywhere with Eric, he could let his guard down enough around her to allow her the chance to escape as well. And if she needs to pretend to be even more livid with Eric than she already ever was, it may be more important than ever that she taps into her genuine anger and hurt to be convincing.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
