Nicole and Rafe on "Days of Our Lives"
Nicole was officially arrested for kidnapping Holly on “Days of Our Lives” NBC

She knew she would have to answer for her crimes if she came back to Salem, but now that Brady seems to be on the mend, Nicole will resign herself to being taken into police custody on the Thursday, June 1 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

After finally escaping from Xander (Paul Telfer) and Deimos (Vincent Irizarry), Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) learned that Brady (Eric Martsolf) wasn’t recovering from his gunshot wound on the NBC soap. In fact, his body was rejecting the heart he had received from Daniel, and the medications to prevent that from happening hadn’t worked. Knowing he was dying and there would only be one chance to say goodbye, Nicole decided to end her life on the run so she could say her farewell.

Though Brady did die, Nicole saw a miracle happen when she placed Holly on his chest afterwards, directly next to Daniel’s heart. By a sheer miracle, it appeared that Daniel’s heart was able to start up again because of the proximity it had to his biological daughter. Though no one could explain what had happened medically, it appeared that Holly’s presence, as well as Nicole’s, brought Daniel’s heart, and Brady, back to life. Soon after, as Nicole prepared to head down to the police station because she knew what she needed to do, Brady finally opened his eyes as well, meaning another miracle had occurred.

However, the happiness can only last for so long, and Nicole will need to allow herself to be arrested because Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) is still, at least for the time being, pressing charges against her for kidnapping Holly.

Though Holly is Nicole’s biological child with Daniel, Chloe served as the surrogate mother during pregnancy. After the little girl was born and the truth came out, Nicole fought for custody as the child’s mother, but lost after Chloe made a convincing case against her due to her then-relationship with Deimos. Shortly after, Nicole ended her ties with Deimos, but still had no luck, and was denied any chance at seeing her daughter.

With Brady’s help, Nicole then managed to kidnap Holly and smuggle her to Canada, where she and Brady had safely started a new life together until Xander found them, shot Brady, and kidnapped Nicole and Holly and took them to Greece, where Deimos was staging a plan to fake rescue them and sweep them off to somewhere unknown for a life with him.

Though Nicole went through a massive ordeal, Chloe isn’t planning on dropping the charges, and intends to keep Holly. And though she would love nothing more than to still have a life with her daughter, and now Brady again as well since he is on the mend, Nicole is prepared to accept her fate and head to prison for a long time.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
