Days of Our Lives
Sami (Alison Sweeney) urges Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) to sober up and be there for his son on the Dec. 8, 2017 episode of "Days of Our Lives." NBC

She has had no luck reconnecting with her son since the truth that he wasn't dead came to light. However, Sami will make one last effort to try and convince Lucas that Will's presence in Salem is the reason he should sober up and at least let one of his parents have a relationship with him again on the Friday, Dec. 8 episode of "Days of Our Lives."

Sami's (Alison Sweeney) been an unwelcome presence in Will's (Chandler Massey) life ever since he came back to Salem, thanks to the brainwashing Susan (Eileen Davidson) put him through, which convinced him that his mother was a horrible and evil person on the NBC soap. Sami made things worse for herself after attempting to use Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) to force Will's memories of his past back by recreating the night that he attempted to take Will's life. That move backfired tremendously and made things even worse for her relationship with Will, which only became more strained.

Now, she has no idea how to get through and rekindle the relationship she once had with her son, but she knows that Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) could still have a chance at reconnecting with Will. However, he continues to sabotage himself with his drinking problem, and his refusal to get help and get sober again.

Now, after learning that Lucas landed in more trouble because of his problems with alcohol, she will make a last-ditch attempt to try and convince him that he needs to sober up. Reminding him that they no longer have questions concerning whether or not Will is alive, she will tell him that their son needs him, but he will only have use for him if he is no longer the town drunk. She will plead with Lucas to try, because if and when Will remembers his former life, he will need one of his parents by his side. Since she knows she has potentially destroyed any chance of him ever forgiving her, she believes the parent who can be there for him is his father.

Now, it will be up to Lucas to decide if Will is worth sobering up for after all, or if he is too far gone to be saved.

"Days of Our Lives" airs weekdays on NBC.
