Steve and Kayla on "Days of Our Lives"
Steve (Stephen Nichols) learns if Tripp (Lucas Adams, not pictured) is really his son on the March 27, 2017 episode of “Days of Our Lives.” NBC

He didn’t think he would ever find the son he had with Ava so many years before, but now that he has located Tripp, Steve will make sure the young man is indeed his son on the Monday, March 27 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

After learning that Tripp (Lucas Adams) was not dead, which was what Ava had told him before she died, Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) headed to Arizona to track him down. They eventually found him, and Steve told him that he believed he was his biological father, but now, in a preview clip for the NBC soap, he will try to get confirmation that it is the truth.

A paternity test will officially reveal whether or not Tripp and Steve are related. When the test comes back with a positive result, Steve will be grateful. However, Tripp’s welcome into the Johnson family won’t be as smooth as everyone hoped because he still doesn’t know the truth about his mother, and learning that could cause some major tension and problems.

Steve has not only neglected to tell Tripp that Ava is dead, but he has also neglected to tell him how his mother died. He’s hesitant to reveal the information because the truth could quickly lead to this new reunion coming to an abrupt end.

Steve’s son with Kayla, Joey (James Lastovic), had previously been a pawn in Ava’s game, under the guise that she would help him get his parents back together. In the process, the teen fell for her, but the feelings were not reciprocated since she was still obsessed with Steve. Finally, after caving to the heartache he felt from her rejection, Joey did the unthinkable and murdered her.

Now that he knows his other son is alive and well and has introduced him into the family, Steve will want to make sure Joey’s secret does not get out, for both of his sons’ sakes.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
