His death is going to be sending shockwaves through Salem, but despite a long list of potential suspects who may have wanted Andre dead, one person in particular will quickly stand out as the prime candidate on the Monday, Jan. 22 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Andre (Thaao Penghlis) recently made a whole new batch of enemies in Salem on the NBC soap, and one of them clearly decided to teach him a permanent lesson, as Abigail (Marci Miller) found him in his office at DiMera with a fatal head wound. Now, the police will have to investigate and try to figure out a true culprit for the crime, and like most murders that occur in the small town, this one will come with a long list of potential suspects to sort through.

Among those who may have wanted Andre dead were Vivian (Louise Sorel) and Stefan (Tyler Christopher), who felt that he was no longer useful to them in their plot to take over DiMera; Gabi (Camila Banus), who Andre had just fired and stolen Gabi Chic from; Anna (Leann Hunley), who has a grudge against him over Tony’s death; and potentially even Chad (Billy Flynn) and Kate (Lauren Koslow), who were beginning to both figure out that Andre was working with Vivian and Stefan to take over the family company.

However, one of those suspects will quickly become a prime target of the investigation, after Rafe (Galen Gering) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) arrive at the murder scene and quickly uncover what may be the weapon used—and it will be something that only one person would have had in their possession.

The cops will quickly deduce that the urn containing Tony’s ashes may have been the murder weapon. Because Anna is known for carrying her dead husband’s ashes around with her and even speaking to them as if she and Tony were having a conversation, she will quickly become the first person who is suspected of the crime.

She may insist she is innocent however, and she very well could be. While the urn being there is pretty damaging evidence against her, she may actually be innocent. The same day as Andre’s murder, she still had the urn in her bag when she found a letter also stuffed inside. She had last been seen reading the document with shock while an unknown person watched her. Depending on what the letter says, and if she turns it in, it could either prove her innocence or implicate her even more.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
