Days of Our lives
Aiden’s (Daniel Cosgrove) return will leave Hope (Kristian Alfonso) conflicted on “Days of Our Lives.” NBC

With a deadly flu epidemic sweeping the town and a character back from the grave, it’s safe to say that things are going to get pretty interesting on “Days of Our Lives” this week.

The NBC soap opera ended last week with Abigail (Kate Mansi) completely shutting herself off from Chad (Billy Flynn). The struggling mom wanted to reunite with her family, but a visit from her husband and son resulted in her taking two-steps back. She even blacked out and threw out Thomas’ favorite stuffed animal.

Elsewhere, those at the hospital were losing hope as the virus appeared to be resisting all forms of treatment. However, Gabi’s (Camila Banus) mother’s holistic approach seemed to lower the fever.

Finally, Hope (Kristian Alfonso) went to Andre (Thaao Penghlis) to get answers about Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove), but Stefano’s (Joseph Mascolo) imprisoned son wouldn’t confess to anything. Fortunately, Rafe (Galen Gering) was able to complete a DNA test and reveal that the man who broke into Hope’s house is the real Aiden. And that means that the man buried in the cemetery was truly a look-alike hired by Stefano to kill the Salem detective. But will this change how Hope feels about her ex-husband? And is Aiden up to something now that he’s back in town? “Days of Our Lives” fans will get answers this week.

The Monday, May 16 episode will alert viewers as to what Andre and Aiden have planned after Friday’s installment concluded with Aiden visiting the villain in jail. It turns out that Aiden is not as innocent as he claims to be. He’ll conspire to free Andre, in exchange for Andre backing up his story about an evil twin trying to kill Hope. And that might be all that Hope needs to hear. The synopsis reveals that she’ll ask Rafe to slow things down.

The Hope, Rafe and Aiden love triangle won’t be the only thing going down on Monday. Fynn (Alexander Bruszt) will discover an antidote for the virus plaguing Salem. Meanwhile, Steve (Stephen Nichols) will head out to Los Angeles to search for his son … but it “may be too late.”

Tuesday’s episode will continue with Hope conflicted over her feelings for Aiden. She’ll visit Bo’s (Peter Reckell) grave as she struggles to process all this new information. What she doesn’t know is that Aiden is hiding in the background, watching her. Elsewhere, Victor (John Aniston) will uncover some information about Summer’s (Marie Wilson) past. And Theresa (Jen Lilley) might be close behind. She’s determined to investigate Summer, no matter what Brady (Eric Martsolf) says.

The Wednesday, May 18 installment will find Deimos’ (Vincent Irizarry) storyline continuing as Justin (Wally Kurth) encourages Victor to give up his plan to take down his estranged brother. Meanwhile, Kate (Lauren Koslow) will suggest to Deimos that they elope to Las Vegas.

Thursday’s synopsis teases that Deimos might take Kate up on her offer to elope. However, he’s not doing it without a pre-nup.

Finally, the Friday, May 20 episode will throw a wrench in Kate’s plans when Nicole grows closer to Deimos. And Kate won’t be the only one suffering from a broken heart. Rafe will catch Aiden and Hope sharing a kiss. Elsewhere, Belle (Martha Madison) will surprise Shawn (Brandon Beemer) with a drunken lip-lock of her own.
