Koei Tecmo has announced that the publisher’s popular fighting game, “Dead or Alive 5: Last Round,” will be getting a second season pass, a move that might prove to be controversial depending on the content given. So far, no specific details have been given on the second “Dead or Alive 5” season pass, though an exclusive costume was announced for those who decide to purchase it.

The announcement was made through the Koei Tecmo Europe Twitter page, which showed off the season-pass exclusive costume, a sexy secret agent outfit for “DOA” fighter Honoka. Other possible costumes and game modes have yet to be discussed, though the pass looks to be exclusive for Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One versions of the game.

So far, it looks to be a season pass filled with costumes rather than any actual game modes, as the image shared by Koei Tecmo Europe has called it the “New Costume Pass 2.” The reaction on Twitter has been mixed so far, as some people would rather see the company work on a new “Dead or Alive” game rather than just release new costumes, while others are fine with the company continuing to support the game, as the New Costume Pass is simply an optional purchase.

What could prove to be even more controversial, however, is the fact that the PC version of “Dead or Alive 5” still has a number of features missing from the game that are available in the console versions, as IGN reported. These missing features include the lack of online multiplayer, which is a big mistake for a game on the PC, a platform that practically thrives on multiplayer matches.

This could result in some fan backlash, as it seems like Koei Tecmo have been focusing on making new costumes rather than fixing some of the problems that continue to plague the PC version. While the console version of the game had a few bugs and glitches, most of those problems have been sorted out while the PC version remains unchanged.

Fans interested in new costumes for their favorite “DOA” fighters can purchase the New Costume Pass 2 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next Wednesday. “Dead or Alive 5: Last Round” is currently available for the aforementioned consoles and the Windows PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
