Swiss Roger Federer and Juan Martin del Potro from Argentina are in the midst of a tight match this afternoon for the championship of the U.S. Open 2009.

Federer won the first set 6-3 in the first 40 minutes of the match. After 2 hours of action, the crowd at the Arthur Ashe Stadium got involved in the game when Del Potro won the second set 7-6 showing a potent forehand capable of beating the World's No. 1 player.

The match could become the first Grand Slam championship for Del Potro and at the same time, the sixth straight U.S. Open win for Federer.
